Energizing Indiana, an energy efficiency initiative by the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC), participating utilities, and consumer organizations, offers an opportunity for home-owners to learn more about energy efficiency while benefiting nonprofit organizations such as Save the Dunes.

If your electric services are provided by Vectren, Duke Energy, IMPA, NIPSCO, Indianapolis Power & Light or Indiana Michigan Power, and if you meet a small list of eligibility requirements, you can sign-up for a Home Energy Assessment provided by Energizing Indiana. The Home Energy Assessment includes an energy savings kit, analysis of your energy use, recommended efficiency measures, and a comprehensive report detailing potential energy-saving solutions for your home. Energizing Indiana programs are funded by utility rates and there are no separate fees to participate.

How does this benefit Save the Dunes? Thanks to Energizing Indiana’s Community Outreach and Enrichment program, nonprofits in Indiana can enroll in a rebate program in which $25 is awarded to the organization every time someone signs up for and completes a Home Energy Assessment. When signing up for the Home Energy Assessment, just use Save the Dunes’ ID# SDCF07112013 , and Save the Dunes will receive $25 when you complete your Home Energy Assessment!
