Join Save the Dunes in welcoming Dr. Charlie Morris of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and Dr. Erin Argyilan of Indiana University Northwest for an evening lecture about the research occurring at Mount Baldy. The closure of the much-beloved dune after a boy fell into a hole has stirred interest from around the country. Miraculously, the child survived, but many questions have been left unanswered. Scientists are hard at work researching what could have happened within the dune for this to occur, and we will hear how their work is progressing and how it may impact public access over time.

In the meantime, catch up on what many scientists have referred to as a geologic phenomenon by checking out the Smithsonian’s coverage of the story here.

RSVPs required– email heather@savedunes.org or call 219-879-3564 x 121. Hot chocolate, coffee and tea will be provided.
