Barker House Renovation Update

After a successful $50,000 capital campaign in 2023, this year we’ve completed several necessary structural updates, including repairing the Juliette balcony and a new stately front porch.

To continue on with our renovations, we’re collaborating with a local Interior Designer, to assist with interior updates.

After removing the pinkish red carpet from the first floor, we discovered that the hardwoods underneath were in pretty good shape, for being over 100 years old. Our first task inside will be refinishing the original wood floors. Due to the nature of this project, Save the Dunes HQ will be closed beginning on November 12th, 2024.

We will be reopened to the public for our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 4th. Don’t miss the opportunity to join us for this festive celebration and see all the new renovations!
