This year Save the Dunes celebrated 70 years of advocating for and defending the Indiana dunes and surrounding natural areas! From leading interactive hikes, to hosting free family friendly events, here are a few of our proudest accomplishments from 2022:
We welcomed a new Executive Director as well as a new Advocacy Coordinator and a Community Engagement Coordinator.
We participated in Great Lakes Day, allowing us to lobby our congressional leadership
We added dozens more acres to our Stockwell Woods property in Long Beach
We hiked Mt. Baldy, Ivanhoe South, Cowles Bog, and of course, Barker Woods.
We hosted our annual 5K Dunes Dash and had a successful turnout on a very windy day.
Our pollinator landscaping guide won a communications award from the Illinois chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects
This list only scratches the surface of all of our hard work in 2022. To learn more about our efforts, check out our Year in Review video below:
We have big plans for 2023 and we can’t wait to show you all that we have in store. Be sure to stay tuned!
