Starting September 1st, Save the Dunes is engaging in an exciting new recycling program. We will be collecting plastic bags and other soft plastic films at three donation locations, if we meet our goal of keeping 1000lbs of plastic waste out of landfills and out of nature, we will receive a recycled plastic bench from Nextrex. So we need your plastic! Start collecting your plastic film waste, please reference the photo below to find out what we are collecting!
Our bench will be in honor of Save the Dunes past president, Jeanette Neagu.
and will be placed in the future pollinator garden here at Save the Dunes HQ at Barker Woods. Will you help us meet our goal by collecting plastic bags and donating at one of our three collection sites?
1. Barker House – 444 Barker Rd, Michigan City – Collection dates: First Tuesday of the month starting September 5th 2023 or email em@savedunes.org to orchestrate a drop off time!
2. IN Dunes State Park Campground Check-in – 1600 N 25 E, Chesterton during business hours 8:30am-7pm
3. Shirley Heinze Land Trust’s Meadowbrook Nature Preserve – 109 W 700 N, Valparaiso Monday through Friday 9am-4pm
